Q: Wow! How do you end up with a name like that?
A: I got it for my birthday.
Q: Is your birthday on Christmas?
A: No, that's not how birthdays work.
Q: Where does that name even come from?
A: The North Pole.
Q: Have you ever thought what it would be like if your wife's name is Mary?
A: Every damn day.
Q: What if your last name was Hanukkah?
A: I wouldn't have to look up how to spell it anymore.
It gets kind of old after a couple decades. This led me to make turning monotonous engagements into meaningful conversations my life’s work.
But what I really live for is The Look. I know you’ve seen it.
It’s that part of the pitch when someone who is looking to poke holes in everything you're saying tilts their head back ever so slightly. Their brows raise as a smile slowly tugs at the corners of their mouth. Then, they nod their head slowly.
It’s the look of “Sold.” And I love that shit.
